Shallowbag Shag Beach Music Festival
Spend the day listening to great music and dancing the “shag,” the official dance of the Carolinas. Be sure to bring chairs or blankets to take a break and have some food & drink. The annual Shallowbag Shag Beach Music Festival is held at the outdoor pavilion in Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo.
Hatteras Storytelling Festival
Do you like to listen to stories? Then make plans to attend the annual Hatteras Storytelling Festival at the Hatteras Village Civic Center ( unless otherwise noted). Nationally-known storytellers, local storytellers and local musicians will gather to entertain you with true life stories and/or folktales. Hang Gliding Spectacular
Come out and enjoy all or some of the four days of professional hang gliding competitions during the Hang Gliding Spectacular. It begins with three days of dune competitions at Jockey’s Ridge State Park. Be sure to attend the Woody Jones Memorial Street Dance on Saturday night at Kitty Hawk Kites, as well.
