Outer Banks Pirate Festival

Learn about the life of pirates by experiencing a camp where you may learn about medical practices, weapons, games, cooking and much more. Kids may participate in Scallywag School where they will learn how to talk like a pirate, sword drills, musket drills and more. The Outer Banks Pirate Festival is a two-day event held at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing and hosted by Kitty Hawk Kites.

Youth Fishing Tournament

The town of Manteo sponsors an annual Youth Fishing Tournament on the waterfront. It is open to ages 4 yrs. to 17 yrs. and prizes will be awarded within age groups for smallest, most unusual fish and biggest fish. An awards ceremony and cookout will be held afterwards.

Surfing in the Outer Banks

WRV Outer Banks Pro

The WRV Outer Banks Pro is a surfing competition that is held at Jennette’s Pier annually. Pro surfers will compete for the top spot in this 5-day competition. Meet & greets will also be scheduled with the pros. Typically held the end of August it sometimes runs into Labor Day weekend.
